Early Years

Emulation & Frustration

Alex spent most of his early compositional years attempt to emulate great composers for the grand piano, names Beethoven, Liszt, and Chopin. Dissatisfied with his lack of quality to their comparison, Alex frequently became frustrated with himself which resulted in long droughts with no musical output or advance. What he did manage to compose was eventually wiped out when his computer crashed back in 2003, lost forever...

Finding his own voice

Alex eventually realized the he was not getting anywhere emulating the classical composers, so he began to go by whatever he felt sounded pleasing to the ear. He did not restrict himself to any particular form, nor any particular style. He found that his own personal style reflected much the rhythms and chromaticism of the romantics, but much the improvised style and unique harmonies of Debussy. Alex had found his voice, and was ready to set down and write in this voice.

TV/Film Work

Alex intends to pursue a career in scoring for TV and films. This section will keep you updated on his latest works in that genre.
