Andrew Hsieh (b. 1983) is a medical student in the Los Angeles area, and an amateur violist/violinist and composer. He is a violist in the LA Doctors Symphony Orchestra and a founding member of the Keck School of Medicine String Quartet. He is a graduate of the California Institute of Technology, with a degree in biology. A relative latecomer to composition, Andrew Hsieh has been composing music since the summer of 2002 and is entirely self-taught. His most important influences include Brahms, Mendelssohn, Borodin, Vaughan Williams, and Richard Strauss. Writing only intermittently between academic commitments, he has completed one major work, a concerto for horn and chamber orchestra. CompositionsComplete Works
