Concerto Form

Concerto form is the basic musical form that is used in a musical Concerto.


Basic Types of Concertos

Italian - Fast, Slow, Fast

French - Slow, Fast

Baroque - Slow, Fast, Slow, Fast. Also in the Baroque Concerto form, there may be a set of two or three dances, such as a Sarabande, Gigue, Menuet, etc...

Classical Concerto Form

The Classical concerto was most commonly seen in this form:

First Movement - [Sonata-Allegro Form] Second Movement - [Ternary Form] Third Movement - [Rondo Form]
