Ed Parry (b.1992) is 15 years old and is currently a high school student in the UK. He has been a musician for around 7 years and has been composing for about 2 years. He plays four instruments including the Trumpet and Piano and his compositions are mostly for the piano, although he hopes to write music for different instruments and groups in the new year. His main influence is Ludovico Einaudi and so tries to write in a minimalist style, with simple melodies and effective harmonies.

Education

Ed is currently at high school studying for 14 GCSEs, two of which are Music and Music Technology. In both of these, he is aiming for the highest grade possible and recently received 100% for his composition towards the GCSE course. He hopes to continue onto college and study Music at A-Level, along with Music Technology, Physics & Computing. He then hopes to go to university to study music composition.

Performance

Ed plays Bb Trumpet in many orchestras and ensembles including:

- Staffordshire Youth Wind Orchestra (North)
- Staffordshire Moorlands Youth Wind Band
- Staffordshire Moorlands Youth Jazz Orchestra
- Blythe Bridge High School Jazz Orchestra
- Blythe Bridge High School Orchestra

He recently went on tour with the Staffordshire Moorlands Youth Wind Band and performed a week of concerts in and around the Spanish city of Barcelona.

Composition

Ed is quite new to composition and so has only completed one piece. He enjoys writting in a minimalist/pop genre with influence's taken from Einaudi, Daniel Pemberton and Dru Masters. He hopes to compose for Film, TV & Games in the future as a hobby, or possibly full-time career.
