RAYCONS shortens for Raymond Constantino, I am Filipino songwriter/composer writes & composes English & Tagalog songs in different genres such as love song, ballad, folk, rock, pop, jingles etc. I emphasize my creation as MUSIC FOR ALL TIMES. Reason?, because my songs are applicable in general ways (habits, behaviors, traditions, feelings, actions etc. and suitable from old times to new generation sounds. I have done hundreds of songs and in May 2007, I have reached my 651st composition. 5% of this were collaboration lyrics from friends. I started writing songs in 1980. At first, I only did lyrics then applies them to popular songs to what we called ADAPTATION, and for me I called them FIXED TUNERS because I fixes, align and rhyme the lyrics to the beat of the music. My early words are made of jokes and politically generated. I started my own lyrics and music in 1981 and the first ever composition I wrote was entitled "BISYO" (means “Luxury”) which came up during my high school days. I carry on writing adaptations periodically until 1998. While still being an amateur songwriter during the 90s, from time to time I joined songwriting competitions such as: Metro Pop, PARI International Songfest, Government Songwriting Contest, TV & Radio Network Songfest as well as Gospel Songwriting Competition. My last entry to International Songfest was in 1996 entitled “ONE WISH, ONE DREAM. My last entry to Metro Pop was in 1999 entitled “SANA PO AY AKO NAMAN” (means “I Wish It’s My Turn”) and came through to the top 200 out of more than 1000 entries. My entry entitled “BATA” (means “Child”) to DBP Katha Himig in 1994 was admired by co-writers and officers by DBP (Development Bank of the Philippines). I became a professional composer when my first album (Christmas songs) was publicly released in 1995 under Diamond Records. I interpreted most of the songs and I featured guest interpreters. The album entitled “NGAYONG PASKO” (means “This Christmas”). In late 2001, I made and recorded a jingle song entitled "CALTEX MEKANIKO CLUB" for Caltex Philippines which was used as products campaign jingle/theme song in seminars held in Manila, Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu and other parts of the Philippines. Same year in December, my folk song “BAYANI KA, MANGGAGAWANG PINOY” (means “You’re A Hero, Filipino Worker”) was selected for the 10 grand finalists to OWWA’s Songwriting Competition “Himig Para Sa Manggagawang Pilipino” (means “Melody for the Filipino Workers”). My up-to-date studio recording was in July 2004 where I recorded the following songs: "TANGING SA IYONG PILING" (means “Only Yours), "DAHIL SA'YO" (means Because Of You), "SORRY KA NA LANG" (means “Sorry For You”) & "HANGGANG KAILAN" (means “Until When”) featuring my daughter, Ms. Jervene Rayluz. These 4 songs were submitted to 2 different recording companies same year before I left for abroad. I am a member of reputable songwriters' associations. My influences in music are John Lennon & George Harrison (sshhh…I became a Beatlemania since I was 6 years old). I senses that the spirit of John Lennon enhances this talent. Thanks to GOD’s gift. Until today...I still believes and struggling....that my other songs...shall come out again. Time will tell, at least....most of them are now in public. For availability of my songs, you can e-mail me at rayconsmusic@yahoo.com for details. --Raycons 05:51, 16 January 2008 (EST)
