Welcome to the Young Composers Wiki!

A Wiki is a system which allows users to easily create content for a website. This may range from a group effort devoted to a single article, to one person authoring a profile about themselves. Save for a few protected pages, all users are permitted to make alterations to Wiki content.

Major Categories:

• Music Articles

This category contains essays/treatises/tutorials/etc. on music or composition written by members of Young Composers - they are bound to contain a certain degree of subjectivity. Additionally, articles in this category may not be required to employ the otherwise standard third person perspective.

• User-Created Profiles

This is a list of self-authored composer profiles. Many of them describe people who are or have been active on the forum.

• Composers

This is a list of articles on composers written and/or compiled by members of Young Composers. Remember that this Wiki is geared towards composers, not the general public. Thus, the biographical information is kept at a minimum. Rather focus on their music.

• Instruments

This category holds all articles pertaining to musical instruments.

• Musical Form

This category lists all articles pertaining to musical forms such as sonata, concerto, and rondo form, as well as others.

• Help

This is a list of pages that are helpful when composing an article for the Young Composers Wiki. These articles are protected so that only staff can edit them, and the information is up to date. Thus the rules and guidelines found in these articles are current and it is by these guidelines that we will assess articles in the database.
