The rules are simple..almost too simple.
Pick 5 notes. Only five. You can use them in different octaves, but only five notes. (Ex: I'm using CDEFG) ((how corny, I know.

No more than five staves. As little as one. Meaning you could use two pianos and a clarinet if that's your thing.
And just for the fun of it..no real reason, but the piece has to have the total measure count of a multiple of five.
