I remember loving the opening scene of this film with its music.

Since, I've actually fallen in love with others of his scores: Peter Pan, Signs, Treasure Planet, Sixth Sense...

Signs is among my favourite scores. It's just one of those understated filmscores with an incredible finale.

In musical criticism, when issues of craft and technical consideration are set aside, what remains is more subjective. However, until technical issues are dealt with, the subjective portion bears considerably less weight.
