I think the contour of the piece is quite nice: the length of the opening unison/octaves, the gradual build-up of sound and the final return to the scale. I like the crunchy 2nds which are introduced almost halfway into the piece (and stay until near the end); they seem to add an amount of complexity and richness to the sound. I notice that the latter parts of the piece feature prominent melodies floating over accompaniment. Might it be interesting to add a counter-melody or two in some of those parts?
