Range isn't necessarily an indication of talent; your assumption was not a good one to make.
It's pretty much standard knowledge that if you dare to use the oboe up at F and higher, you basically have to cover up the shrill sound, because it does not sound good that high. You don't see a lot written above the G.

Maybe a qualititative discussion of the range is a good idea, instead of putting an absolute upper limit.
