The piece *is* contrapuntal, but it certainly isn't a fugue (unless it's some sort of incredibly advanced augmentation fugue or likewise ... which I somehow doubt). Having said this, it's perfectly acceptable to write a 2-voice fugue, despite what's been said. I'd be interested to hear what Johnny Fawkes thought he was trying to do in writing this piece. I didn't enjoy it a great deal, since there were too many intervals that sounded unnecessarily dissonant.
