I realize that it's not the traditional setup, but I would need 2 to get what I want out of the timpani part. :/ As for the low D, I'll have to fix that. I didn't really take into account the tone quality, (which is something I REALLY need to stop doing. :/)
And I don't really understand your comment about the winds, because there isn't a clarinet playing in m. 28-29. o.O Do you mean the bassoon?
