A classic love ballad. Sort of. This was my first attempt at writing a ballad. There are some ballad-y parts in there (the vibe solo stuff), and some ballad-y chord progressions (middle of each verse), but that's about it. Maybe I'm too young, but I can't seem to write ballads....
As for the love part, well.....read it and find out.
I like this song, so I'm probably not gonna change much, but if you have any suggestions for when I attempt to write ballads in the future (slower tempo, etc.), I'd love to hear them. Same goes for my lyrics as well. And the violin part.
Also, a recording is not available as a.) I cannot sing and b.) The only microphone I have is a webcam. c.) my keyboard's in the car. So if someone wants to pitch in....
Thanks!
~Kal
_EDIT: Whoops, I had the wrong midi version up. Problem fixed.
Lysa
Thirty-five plus years
Is not a hard bridge to gap if you do it right
Abandon foresight
We can escape under the twilight
Away we'll go
My red chateau
You know
That it's okay
Lysa
You don't have to be afraid
Lysa
There's no need to be ashamed
No one has to know
No need to worry - there's nothing to fear
When I'm near
Why do you cringe when I call you dear
I'll never harm
You in my arms
Alarms
Should be silent
Lysa
You don't have to run away
Lysa
There's no need to be ashamed
(Instrumental bridge- Sax solo for 4 bars, melodica solo, electric guitar solo)
Back to old Mekong
I may never see your eyes forever young friend
Why must it end
People told me again and again
There was no start
Only my heart
Departs
With this letter
Lysa
You don't have to run away
Lysa
You don't have to be afraid
Lysa
There's no need to run away
Lysa
You don't have to be ashamed
