Ah well, they are good if you are prepared to sit there in front of the computer for 10 hours, write your piece...print it off...and then loose the computer copy.
Haha, no, it is not cheating...to write out an improv and fix it up.
My Impromptu in C major (somewhere on this site) is an improv...i just havent written it yet haha. And the Marzurka in G minor (which, isnt really a marzurka) is also improv.
So...go for it. It just means that your pieces probably won't be structurally admirable...but...if they sound good...who cares.
