There is no absolute standard convention for the placement of instruments in a woodwind quintet. Some publishers place the horn at the bottom, below the bassoon (as it would be in an orchestral score), while others place it between the clarinet and bassoon.

The entire grouping, however, DOES need to be bracketted, as Justin has commented.

In musical criticism, when issues of craft and technical consideration are set aside, what remains is more subjective. However, until technical issues are dealt with, the subjective portion bears considerably less weight.
