If you're just recording to notate it you don't need good sound quality. I'm sure you can buy a cheap recorder/tape deck/whatever in a second hand store for almost nothing. Or buy one of these colourful Fisher Price tape recorders
Or try to restrain yourself and only play as much as you can remember and then write down
