I'm new here and am just browsing through. This piece does strike me as very American, especially the recurring theme. The melody that starts at around 2:24 gives me an impression of some early settlers finding a big pasture and looking hopeful : ) It's quite beautiful! Personally I think the whole piece would be more powerful if you start at 0:43 -- a more direct opening with greater impact.
