Wow. I really enjoy the atmosphere. You do nice orchestrations, and I think you should do the orchestrations for the rest of the score as well. (But I also suggest having a piano score in some form for easy access if another orchestrator is called to do something at some point in time.)
It sounds rather dark and foreboding to me. I'm assuming it's not a comedy like Urinetown or Little Shop of Horrors.
As for the music:
Since you've stepped into the world of musical theater, I'll have to assume that you'll be ready to make a few sacrifices in the orchestration. If you want real string players, then you will probably have to deal with solo playing, which loses some of the qualities expressed in your realization. Of course, there are two alternatives to that, using straight keyboard, or mixing keyboards and string instruments.
With that out of the way, I'm assuming at the end of this opening, something else happensl. It just kind of stops abruptly, and a cliffhanger like that seems unappropriate if it's just the curtain rising. I'd like to know what's going on during or after this.
