Christopher: I believe you are right. And i agree. Usually, i finalize the mixing later on in the project to make it sound as good as possible in order to bring out the best of every frequency.

I usually visualize everything in my head while making a song. So i can hear exactly in my head what i want, and i then try to make it as close to my ideas as possible. If i dont have any specific idea to start with, i basically start somewhere and let it come to me in time. However, i should buy some basic theory books soon as i believe it would help in order to do certain things. As for now, i am self-taught.
