Actually, what I meant was: The composers should not write anything about their pieces because it is possible that they have not skillfully conveyed ideas they wanted to in the music of their piece, and Thomas might read this and become biased towards that piece or against it. Like, if you have not skillfully put something meaningful in your piece, even though you set out to and it is apparent to you only, telling us that will take away from the focus of the competition, which is to see who has skillfully written the best piece of music. Not who can tell us a lot about it, but not necessarily have it all in the music.
And, Nightengale, Thomas is going to select 5 pieces, which will all go before the conductor. He will then pick the one final winner.
I strongly believe that if a contestant wishes not to have their piece publicly heard, they do not have to post it.
