I'm not sure why this charming little miniature was placed in the atonal category, for surely it is not that!!

I love the opening little rhythmic dance that this piece begins with. It is jaunty and fun, reminding me of a dance one might find in an older town with hundreds of years of history to celebrate and traditions to keep alive.

The slower melody that plays over top of this seems to be the voice of that memory languidly swaying back and forth to this dance like an old man watching two youths keeping alive those things that he valued. He stares, remembering his own past with fond and bittersweet candor.

Very delightful! I loved it!
