The first minute of this piece is rather dull and doesn't seem to accomplish much. I think you can shorten this up by at least twenty seconds and not lose any of the emotional intensity I'm sure it is meant to create. The material starting at 1:00 is definitely more interesting.

Nice twist on the opening material in measure 90-91. That adds a bit more tension to it. The ending is nice though., going down to the low C. :-)

I cannot say this was a terribly interesting piece in midi format. I'm sure that it would be more gripping emotionally with a real viola player imparting their pathos to it.
