I don't want to write a symphony as it would take easily into the hundreds of hours to complete and at the moment I'm preparing for my grade 8 guitar, learning to play keys, learning to sing, preparing for two teacher's diplomas and snowed under with school work. And, i can hardly ever get on the computer to notate what i write as my brother is always using it. Plus, i know symphony movements are meant to be in sonata form, something i have no experience with working with.

My proposition of a concerto makes more sense as it doesn't seem as daunting as a symphony, so more people would take part, it's not restricted to any era, there are baroque concerti, classical concerti, romantic concerti and so on so people can work more in there comfort zone, it's generally not as long a work as a symphony and therfore won't take as much time. Also, If you want to spend ages on it you can, if you like have ten minute long movements.
