your music is very heavily decorated, which is sort of interesting for the genre.
however, the listener very quickly loses any sense of harmonic direction.
I would have preferred to have a few clearer progressions and cadences.

I would also have liked to know what instruments I was supposed to be hearing.

In musical criticism, when issues of craft and technical consideration are set aside, what remains is more subjective. However, until technical issues are dealt with, the subjective portion bears considerably less weight.

thanks for your comments, although they don't make sense for me. i don't add "embelishments", all notes are important parts of the music and thrills, arpeggios etc are there not to adorn but to enhance rhythm and melody and in many times even to lead the harmony. as the harmonic direction i hear this piece very clear, although it can follow a non-standard way. the instruments are flute, harp and electric bass. cheers!

For some this piece quite addicting. There were parts with trills that i liked a lot. Keep it up!

I liked the ending alot. The places where the two upper voices immitate eachother are very nice, I like using that sort of passage in my music too. I think your melodic ideas are very creative, even if combined nontraditionally.

I would like to know what sort of harmonic techniques you use. I would assume that in a style like this, dissonance and consonance would be manipulated in subtle patterns... creation tension or resolution, etc..

thank you!
yes you are right, i deal with harmony towards a balance of tension and relax. besides, i use many dissonances in order just to create different colors to the main texture. but i am afraid i am a poor instructor of harmony, i cannot even describe my own technique of composition, i just compose what comes to my mind without any previous planning. i am entirely self-taught and would say to my 'disciples': "just go and compose as you wish!" hahahahahaha!
