Andante for Flute and Piano

Andante for Flute and Piano is short duet that I am rather fond of. I hope you like it! Comments and feedback is appreciated!

EDIT: I just notice a couple nasty engraving mistakes in the pdf, but I'll clean those up, so please ignore them for now.

It's pretty, but that's A LOT of C major. The piece would be a lot more effective with some chromaticism just for the sake of color, and there is so much more you could do with the flute part. If you aren't yet familiar with it, check out Debussy's Syrinx, you should be able to find a pdf of it on Google, and there are plenty of performances on YouTube (I suggest James Galway). How long have you been writing?

About a year now, but seriously, only about half a year.

Thanks for your comments!

Half a year? Well then, you're off to a good start I must say! You should really listen to as much music as you can and *study theory* if you haven't started that already, that is if you're serious about composing. Good luck.

I agree. It was very nice. I can't really latch onto themes in many people's pieces, but I could get a real sense of coherency here. Your chord progressions are pretty repetetive, though. I liked it. Very beautiful.

I updated it a little bit and made the flute part a bit more interesting. It would be great if you gave it a listen. Thanks!
