Hello Scott,

I like the beginning - very nice atmosphere you created - and the way flute and piano are engaged in a sort of continuous dialogue. The balance should work well on real instruments. Have a look at my piece for flute and piano, "Gigallegro!", if you have a chance. Have fun in Tanglewood! Best, Lorenzo

I like it! As a flautist, my only concern is some of the high notes that are held for a bit on flute. Like the tied A from measure 16-17, would be tough. Certainly not impossible and definitely playable, but just something to consider. Other than that, good job!

Thank you!!! My first concernwas that it was boring, so I'm glad you liked it. Im so glad a flautist told me it was playable. Yea!! I didn't even think of the held notes...i was thinking about the 5-tuplets at the end. lol

Thanks again, I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

Thank you Lorenzo as well, your comments are very nice. Thank you.

Hey. I like the atmosphere of this very much, and the bitonality bb.25+26 etc. is really cool. I don't know if you're a pianist but personally I'd prefer the chords from b.41-46 to be split up into upper and lower parts, just for ease of reading. A really nice piece, I especially like the idea at 37-38 and when it returns; it contrasts very effectively.

The Boston University TANGLEWOOD Institute is the best summer music program in the U.S. Im obviously studying composition for 6 weeks, living on the Tanglewood grouds in Lenox. Tanglewood is also the summer home of the Boston Symphony.

Hey tenor this is awesome lol

I must admit i disagree with pianistboy about the high notes - it only goes up to an A which is about the last note i can make before it begins to go shrill, so i don't think there should be a problem there. I think the hardest part is the opposite of that; the notes in the lower register, particularly the middle c's, during the fast tuplets. Its definately playable though (i've printed a copy of it lol ^.^)

Great piece good luck at tanglewood
