I use GPO and JABB right now. They are far from the best in the business, but unbeatable at their price. I am also still learning how to use them, so I know that they can sound better.

Thanks for the listen and the comments.

I thought it was kind of cool how you used harmony and color effects. There were moments where I thought you were going to do one thing, but then threw me for a little loop by doing something totally unexpected! Also, I thought it was pretty innovative to use the room itself as an instrument (you spoke of the reverb needing to be just right for the ending to work).

By the way, I use Finale GPO as my library (sometimes coupled with the normal SoftSynth sounds if I want to use a bowed vibe or other less-common timbre), but I was curious as to the capabilites of other libraries. You mention one called JABB. Are there other sound libraries available that are better than GPO?

By the way, it seems like it would take an incredible ear to hear harmonies such as these. Do you have perfect pitch?

First off welcome to the forum. I listened to your 1st symphony when you first posted it, but didn't have the time to finish it,let alone comment. I have time today and in fact am listening to the 2nd movement right now. I will post in that thread soon.

JABB is Garritan's Jazz And Big Band. I use the brass in it for most of my works and use the vibraphone as well. You are already using some of Gary's products with finale, but if you can afford it, you might want to purchase the entire GPO for Finale. I think it is around 200$. I am a Sibelius user and had what is probably the same few instruments fro GPO included, but I bought the full version of GPO to go with it and have been very happy with it. For the price, you can't beat it.

With that said, Eastwest is running a sale on a number of its libraries. I just purchased EWQLSO Gold Pro Bundle for 625$ from Sweetwater, (EW sells it for 700$) and installed it today. I will mail the receipt to EW and get EWQL RA, (which also goes for around 600$) for free. So it is a 2 for one sale. I like 50% off when I buy. The samples are higher quality than GPO, but then so is the price. GPO is great for the money.

I thought I had a decent sense of pitch until I heard a guy that has perfect pitch. So, sadly, I do not have perfect pitch, but can hear pretty close.

Thanks for the comments. I will post in your thread now.

Ron
