Bassoon Concerti/Solo and Symhony Orchestra

Before I start I will state openly anything mozart or carl maria von weber, i will openly flame (I hate mozart's and von Weber's noteworthy bassoon stuff).

I'm looking for a piece (hopefully more contemporary) that is for the most part a bassoon concerto with standard orchestra. I've played mozart's concerto for bassoon (K191) and ever since I finished that audition I never want to play it again.

Now if I could, I would pick up Kalevi Aho's contrabassoon concerto and learn it right away, unfortunately, the group I'll be with probably isn't good enough to play it. I wanted to get my hands on Proctor's lyrical concerto for (double) bassoon and orchestra but I can't find a recording.

Suggestions? I'm trying to find something that is for lack of a better phrasing, dark, emo, modern or in a minor key and is NOT VIVALDI!!!!!!!

thanks.

What? what about the vivaldi G minor concerto for bassoon? Have you listened to his complete concerti?

I recommend the John Williams, the absolutely stunning Jolivet, the Wolf-Ferrari, the Jacobs, or the Gubaidulina Concerto for Bassoon and Low Strings.

RV 501.

I accept your apology.

Also, it apparently befallen me that Vivaldi's bassoon concerti are that popular... and hated. I like them.

If I take time to critique a piece of yours, I would greatly appreciate it if you took the time to critique mine.
