THANK YOU!!!
Before you go dissing such a landmark piece for 20th Century Music, go and listen to music through the periods and see how it truly is genius.

I can agree with that, Stravinsky according to Simon rattle gained inspiration for the peace from a warring Russian winter

Besides, Beethoven's fifth has never kept my attention for long. It's like Leonard Bernstein put it- "[paraphrasing] Beethoven simply takes a little motif and squeezes everything out of it until it is dry.[/paraphrasing]" I agree with this- the motif quickly gets boring becomes quite a bore to listen to. But that's me- I guess gms5287 liked it...

[EDIT] Neat documentary!

I was being sarcastic, kid. Try actually reading before you post next time. Anyway, I like both Le Sacre and Beethoven 5, they're both landmarks in the history of this art that we all study. I won't say anything else because you're young, and I remember how I was when I was that age........7-8 years ago. God I'm old.

I hate it when people assume that I (and others) can read their minds, and blame everyone for not doing so. Number one, you make no mention of sarcasm, and two, you have already stated that the Rite of Spring is "crap". Don't expect everyone to know what you are saying and be a bitch about it when they don't.

He did make at least one post after his first that made it pretty damned obvious that he was being sarcastic...

So ANYWAY.....back to the topic at hand!
Sir Violinist I very much enjoyed the video. I was great the way Sir Rattle spoked of the piece.

Maybe to try and put this to rest....?
I understand not everyone LOVES Stravinsky or the Rite of Spring, but as a rising composer, you should still study it and learn from it and realize how much it changed music. I own the score and I'm always in awe of its genius! You can see all of the layers of different pieces of fabric he just lays and lays and lays!! Please dont just say the Rite of Spring is crap based on its atonal cover, read the pages and see that its an important piece.

Thank you.
