Berlioz: Benvenuto Cellini

Has anyone ever heard this opera? It held the most complex and strange rythmic patterns until Stravinsky arrived.
I find it genius and actually easy to listen to, compared to other works of his... It has much humour in it, and if you get a translation of the lyrics you should read it while you listen, for Berlioz's music is nothing but wonderful storytelling. If you can read french, then get the original lyrics: The Hector Berlioz Website - Benvenuto Cellini Weimar

My favorite scene is the end of act II, from the beggining of the carnival to the complete mess at the end. I do recommend this work.
