Quite amazing! Love etc! I really enjoyed it, and was dancing throughout.

I particularly loved the changes in atmosphere, and the ugly harmonies were brilliant. It sounded like a city junction full of cars.

Wow. I'm not really an experienced jazz listener, but this sounds great to my ears. The descending loop at the start was very catchy.
As for uglyness, I can't really tell where it was ugly. But then, I'm quite new to jazz.

Love that little break in there with the tenor solo....some of those hits weren't perfectly lined up, but no one's perfect.....

LMAO! I love that slower halftime section....that u playing trombone? I thought it was gonna go into some slow stripper tempo big band thing, like the end of "Channel One Suite"....

If you haven't heard the piece "Turbine" by Frank Tichelli, this is almost similar- were all those chromatic runs/falls/glisses written out?

And I'm lovin' the Cecil Taylor piano solo.....
And that main theme comes back in again....very nice.....almost cliche ending, very well done!

Like I said, sounds pretty Mingus-y to me. I love it.

Thanks for listening! Mingus was certainly the model for this one - wanted to capture the feeling of loose energy that's so inherent in all his music.

It is me playing trombone...not one of my finer moments, but it's something nonetheless.

As for the "chromatic runs/falls/glisses", some parts at the beginning were improvised with instructions in the part (i.e. "half-valve plunger licks, bluesy/raw" or "Mingus-ish collective improv" ). Before the piano solo it all decays into complete free improv...
