Brass sounds with Virtual Analog

Just showing off new patches I created from Synth1 that emulates semi-realistic brass sounds. Focused on the fat ripping sounds that seems to be lacking in a lot of libraries.

Here's a short demo:

Same demo with only the brass section:

No samples used.

Very cool! I like them; quite impressive-sounding and they're synthed. Very punchy and they'll fit in nicely for a good Hollywood sound. I'm imagining that these could actually be used really nicely as subtle accents doubling a sampled brass line with some work.

Anyhow, very neat and thanks for showing.

I intend on making it independent in terms of usage. But that also means developing supplementary midi plugins... which shouldn't be too hard. For now, they'll just be layered over other sounds.

I should also mention that all other sounds from the first demo are all synthesized.

Here's a "Bubble Bobble Theme" rendition done through my sounds:

Probably more enjoyable then my original demos.

Is it able to produce other orchestral sounds?

I've also emulated some winds, strings, harp, organ, bass drums, electric guitar pad, and other sounds in this demo:

This is an older demo, most sound less real than what it sounds like now.

Impressive stuff. It's a nice little synth.

Are you willing to share your presets?

No plans yet, probably commercial distribution in the future when I have more patches set up and custom plugins developed for it. If that were to happen, the presets won't be released, just the sounds, or in some other format.

Otherwise, it might just be private use.

I've downloaded synth1 (it's free), and all those knobs! Geez..
I think I need to learn how to use them though, it may come in handy someday.

Kaiyoti, do you have any tutorials on how to shape those sounds? Thanks.

I learned it by trial and error, and experience with various other synthesizers. If you've never used synthesizers before, I'd suggest learning the Moog emulation synth "Minimogue VA" first. It's also a free synth. Synth1 is a Nord Lead emulation, which is a little more complex.
