Brief Sketch of a Passing

After some years of having written nothing, I am hoping to get back into composition; so one weekend a few weeks back, I wrote a small piece for fun on my computer. It is a wind quartet for flute, clarinet, bass clarinet and bassoon. I would very much appreciate your comments and critique. Thanks very much.

quite nice and jolly, a score would be nice

I didnt like the transisition to the repeat of the theme in the very begining however thats the only thing I disliked,

not bad at all for just getting back into composing!

Again a score would be great

virtualshock, thanks so much for your comments and critique. By transition, do you mean 0:55 to 1:15 (bars 74 to 98) or so? I do not have a score (the written music my program generates is of rather poor quality), but I am attaching the midi file in my original post. Thanks again for your words!

Actually I was talking about measures 14-17, the quick transistion for the theme to repeat, but know it doesnt stand out to me so much, maybe it was just a first listen thing.

You could change it to a smoother more flowing line or not change it at all , On the 2nd and 3rd listens it doesnt really bother me at all, and it shows up again at measure ~111 which is nice.

As I said earlier good work!
