Hey, it's my first time posting, so I hope I get replied to...darn it. (shakes fist)

This is a piece I wrote for a friend that has decided that all great music is in an ultra-minor key, with augmented seconds, and lots of fully diminished chords. Obviously, if you listen to this, you'll notice that I obviously don't agree. But, hey, it is in a minor key (c minor). Well...yay for that. It's not terribly polished, but, hey, what can I say...

It's just a short piece, with nice melodies, a bit of modulation, and, well...

Just listen to it. And respond... (subtle fist quiver)

Oh, by the way, I'm a total beginner, so...umm...don't take me too seriously. << Me

THERE IT IS!! [attachmentid=1606]

ha ha, this finale is incompatible with my 2005. Maybe you could turn it into a midi?

As I said, I'm a beginner. Therefore I don't exactly know how to do that. *sigh*

If anyone could help, that'd be great. I'm using Finale NotePad 06 (the free one), and I doubt I could get a midi from there. Alas.

Thanks for your support.

I've been writing music for umm... a couple weeks, I guess. At least, that's when I downloaded NotePad (because it was free). Before that I doodled around a little on paper, which is a whole lot more difficult...

As for my instrument, I play the cello and have been for about 5 years (5 and a half?). Just this year I began to get serious about it. I hope to become a cellist/teacher (music, of course) someday. Composition is only for the joy of creation, and to put it in a noble manner, for my legacy (AKA - for my big head).

I am very familiar with the cello and its limits (wow, Dvorak concerto...), which makes it easy for me to write for it, and less so on other instruments, especially those crazy winds. Why can't they just read in concert pitch?

Other than that I play in a multitude of orchestras throughout the year, and love every note. I don't think one can live off of solos and small ensembles alone. Gotta have that massive orchestral sound. Ah!

Anyway, so that's me... If anyone else has suggestions (terribly good or wonderfully bad) for the piece, feel free to post.
