Choir in Finale

I just had an Epiphany. I know that there is the ability in Finale 2008 to record/import MP3 into your piece. So for example if you wanted to write Leider, you could compose the piece, and sing over the top and have it recorded etc.

Well, I was just thinking in regards to GPO more than Finale: What if they made a choir sample library. Now i know what you are thinking: What an Idiot!

Yes I am. But hear me out. Im not saying that this choir sample library will need to have every single Latin, English, French, German etc. word in it for playback, But like...if they could create the Ahhs and the Oooohs and Laaaas and the Doooooos....so that we can get really good choir playback..

I dont know, give me your opinion.
Would be cool.

???????????????

there already are a number of "ooh and ahh" choral libraries.
Finale 2008 comes with an "ok" sounding collection of oohs and ahhs, but nothing to write home about.

and if you haven't been keeping track on the Garritan forum, Garritan is coming out with a choral library which wil be more than just "oohs and ahhhs".

The projected choral library from Garritan will have the ability (like the other large-scale choral libraries) to "build words".

Check out the East West Quantum Leap (EWQL) Symphonic Choirs library, it's very nice, and moderately affordable, though definitely a decent investment. See, it uses the basic building blocks of words (well, English and Latin words mostly), the vowels and consonant sounds, to create words. Each sound is sampled (with different mic positions and articulations, too!) and a program is used to build the words. In fact, the program is called "Wordbuilder" . It works pretty well, and you have a pretty decent amount of control over the sounds. If you're looking for a sampled choir (and soloists, though there are probably better solo samples out there) EWQL Symphonic Choirs would definitely be a good choice .

I'm not convinced it works well with Finale.. which is what the OP was asking about.

What a beautiful sound that East West Quantum Leap (EWQL) Symphonic Choirs library has. But like what QC said, it may not work well in Finale.

Where is the link to see the garritan version Cowboy?

As I said "the projected choral library from Garritan will have..."
In case you missed that, that's a future tense.

Oh, sure, it doesn't work well with Finale alone (at least not as well as I'd like it to...it certainly works, though), but in and of itself it is very good...combined with some sequencing programs you can get a very realistic sound. The Garritan option sounds very valid as well, though.
