Cool Chorale Harmonization II

--- Chorale Challenge II ---

This time the old Lutheran melody is Christ lag in Todes Banden, Christ Lay in the Bonds of Death or something like that.

So I challenge anyone interested to write their own harmonization of this short melody. For an even greater challenge write counterpoint against it, write a full chorale prelude or write chorale variations.

My own contribution will be arriving soon, hopefully. I look forward to hearing other people's pieces.

Wow, that was soon, but beautifully done. I can imagine it played by a Renaissance consort of viols or recorders. You really captured the melancholy spirit of the melody.

I'll post a recording of Bach's version once the competition's over - it's from BWV 4 (of which I have a recording).
