Only contestants of the christmas carol competition can submit pieces here. I would have accepted your piece, if the competition had not been full already.

JUDGING!!!

My main judging criterion is how much the piece makes me feel like it is Christmas.

Letehn - For some reason, your piece is no longer there. The MID that is. I cannot read the MUS file, so unless you can get me the MID file, I cannot judge your piece.

Frantz - You have written a piece tha tI find interesting, but I don't really feel like it makes a good Christmas Carol. While it is technically demanding and interesting for all the players involved, there are some strange dissonances that for me don't fit in with the feel of Christmas. The piece seems to be very heavy to begin with, and you quickly begin to have a fast counterpoint to the vocalists that wanders around quite a bit. I couldn't really get a feel for a tune at all here. While I enjoyed listening, I don't think this is really a Christmas Carol that makes me feel Christmassy.

Score: 4 of 10.

Chad Dream Eyes - When I saw that you had a time signature of 11/8 and then 12/8 I felt trepidation. Those didn't look like Christmassy time signatures to me. But you quickly ocnvinced me otherwise. There is a definite festive feel to this piece. It is a feeling that you maintain throughout its course. There is one major weakness of the piece and that is the lack of a melody that lasts more than a single measure, at least that I can tell. There are a few tunes which seem to exist for a moment, but they also could be confused for decorative twists. You do give me a festive feeling, though the lack of a clear tune makes it harder to remind me of Christmas. Still, the upbeat nature and the mostly major chords lets me know that it is a happy time. Good job!

Score: 7 of 10

I'm gonna have to drop out... it's finals week and I just don't have any time to finish up in time.
