It'll probably be rather difficult to play down there, but it's a powerful register.

Either send them directly to me, or post them in the thread marked for 'submissions' in the Submissions section of the Competitions Forum. I don't mind how I receive them, provided they come with a score and some sort of audio file. There's just over a fortnight to go.

There is nothing that strikes me as impossible in the theremin part - it's nice to hear that you're working on the composition. We should have some great pieces by the deadline. The player has control over the instrument's dynamics (that is, its volume), using the left hand control loop.

Sorry for the semi-stupid question but:

G1 as in the GM where C4 is the middle C? Would it be possible to provide a tiny score (or say that G1 is the G in the bass clef 3 ledger lines under the staff... Is this the G?) In that case A6 would be 2 and 1/2 octaves higher than the middle C, so the A 4 ledger lines above the tremble clef.

Isn't it nice to make things more complicated?

I also plan to enter this one, just can't gurantee the quality of the audio file, since my studio is currently traveling trans Europe!

I'm not entirely sure I understand the question. Middle C is C4, as in this:
Scientific pitch notation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Any form of notation or clef for the theremin itself is possible, provided it uses standard symbols and is explained in the score.

We've had some wonderful entries for this competition! Thank you to everyone who entered. Judging will commence shortly, with results to be announced soon afterwards. With luck a recording will have been made before the end of this summer holiday (though some rather unexpected events have meant that this may take slightly longer than was previously assumed).

I can say with assurance however that judging this competition will be no means be an easy task for the panel. There are three judges, with a wide spread of musical tastes. One is a locally acclaimed composer of modern choral and orchestral repertoire, and the other two are the performers.

I apologize that I wasn't able to get an entry in on time, I really wanted to. I'm still working on my piece, I'd like to finish it on my own eventually, but it's slow work, unfortunately.
