What was those swelling synths in the beginning? Those really caught my attention, but I felt it grew tiring after some time. Try removing it near halfway of the piece. Love the percussions that come in at 1:30 or so. Also, when you restate the theme at 1:57, I felt that you should change the backing tracks a little instead of still sticking to the swelling synths, as to provide some variation to the piece. Or is that a loop like Marius stated?

As for the ending, most game music that loop end by fading out. You should try it too. 10~ 20 seconds of fading out would suffice.

Good piece overall, looking forward to hear more.

It's got a very pleasant build to it. Sort of laid-back and enjoyable to listen to. It's unobtrusive too, which is probably perfect for the in-game setting. I've got no specific critiques about the piece other than the "ending" : is the "end" I'm hearing in the player the actual end? It seems to cut off really abruptly, and it doesn't seem like it's meant to loop...I've opened it twice now in case it was just a loading issue, but it goes till 1:54 or so and then cuts off.
First off, I reuploaded the song. I'm not sure why it cut off like that.

The game technically takes place in medieval times, but seeing how its a fantasy game there are advanced technology that doesn't really belong and some that don't even exist today. So, it's kind of twisted. The developer said to make the music more modern-ish though. So, that's what I'm doing.

I agree that the swelling might get tiring. I will probably take it out of the climatic section (1:29-1:56) and then bring it back or bring something else in it's place.

I don't understand what you mean by fading out to loop. Wouldn't that make it end and wouldn't sound right when it started again?

I didn't meant fading out in the actual piece which will be used in the game. I meant fading out in the piece that you show to us. Since it's just for listening, it doesn't have to loop

Fading out is a good way because you won't have to think of an ending for the piece.

Well, to be honest, I listened to Crimson Castle for the first time about 5 days ago but really couldn't come up with anything to say....and I still can't. It's not really my style (kind of ironic since I often use guitars in my own pieces). It's well-written for what it is but it just doesn't conjure up images of a castle for me.

I just noticed your upload another one recently, Information Channel. This is a fun, quirky little piece. This isn't my style either but I actually rather enjoy this one. The beeps and boops gives a kinda retro-ish feel. Overall, nice work on both. Hope the project is going well.

Guitars are just instruments and as soon as we learn how to write for them, we usually break the rules to try to create whatever sound we are going for. So, you can't expect to know a piece just because it has an instrument you are very familar with, although you will probably be able to mimic it.
The idea behind these pieces is to make "background music" or ambient music (although saying ambient music is background music is stereotyping it) that is interesting, but subtle and has a more modernish feel. The game is designed around stradegy of guilds or militarys/clans/nations/organization (not sure how to define it).
So, the music needs to be defined by that more then anything else.

For any of you guys who are wondering what happen to this project...
My old computer died on me about a month ago, so I bought a brand new one, but the Standard Windows Vista does not have a recording input (or a computer sound input; not talking about a mic input) so I couldn't record anything. Long story short I got the boot, but I finally managed to get it to work by plugging one side of a jack in an output plug and the other in the mic input. So, the computer can record itself now. (Hoorah! )
