Currently Active Users, Highlight forum staff? - Minor suggestion.

I was wondering if this might be of a little help to newer members. I've seen it on other forums, and was wondering if it could be done here - that in the list of online users at the bottom of the forum index the mods and admins and any other staff be highlighted a certain colour to stand out from the standard run-of-the-mill users like myself. Sound like a good idea? Stupid? Thoughtful? Pointless?

I've seen this on other sites as well, but I can't see a practical use for it. Might there be one? Easier for users to contact an online staff member, perhaps?

That's exactly what I had in mind, especially with less experienced members who aren't familiar with the staff here as well as those that have "been around."

James has a point. This forum is growing, it is not so obvious for a newcomer to know who the staff is. Of course, there is the staff list but maybe it could be 'tricky' to find.

OK, done this now...you will need to press F5 (or perhaps even CTRL + F5) in order to observe the changes.

I've only accounted for Administrators and Moderators since I had a hard enough time coming up with just two different yet inoffensive colours, letalone four (colour is not my forté ). Even now, the red administrator colour doesn't really work in the Dark Red style. If anyone artsy happens to have any ideas in this regard, they would be very welcome.

The colour green should work in any of the styles, preferably a darker green.

Thanks - seems to work OK. I've applied that to the Editors group.

Reviewers are going to be a bit more complicated anyway, due to the manner in which the accounts are set up, but how about a dark blue? Or would that clash with the rotting peach? Actually, how about the purple which is dotted around on the various buttons?

As an aside, I think it would be far easier to accept that no combination of colours is going to go with every theme on offer...

Purple would be lovely

It will not be too dark to read in the darker styles and will not stick out too much in the brighter ones

You may be Tinky Winky, Robin, but I'm Po, and editors are Dipsy. Moderators are close to being Laa-Laa: they possess the appearance of having been put through the wash with a bunch of dark clothing.

Thanks to Wikipedia for helping to sidetrack things there.

Anyway, all done now. The online list looks kind of pretty, actually.
