Disquieted

I'm back after a long absence... not that many people missed me. Anyway, this piece is an electronic, three-movement piece written as an experiment, but it turned out pretty well, it was even played in the composers recital during the new music festival at my university.

first thing that strikes me about it is its clearness. it's very transparent music. i don't know if it's a good or a bad thing, but it doesn't let me get into it. like surface without depth. for that, i think, to sound promising, it must be less rounded and more rhizomatic.

The first movement was a little bland, but the second two were very cool. I really liked the unpredictable percussion part. Also the samples used in the last movement were nice.

Overall, a good use of dissonance and consonance. It maintained a mostly soft/consonant feel, so the few moments of dissonance were well conceived. Aside from the first movement, its a really good work.
