So we should submit a midi and a score (obviously ), but how about mp3s? If I finish before July 22nd (not likely, but it´s possible) I may even be able to play the piece with my brother for a live recording. I realize it wouldn´t exactly be fair to those who couldnºt get their pieces played, or without GPO, but the piece is rather lyrical, and midi would not do it justice, I believe. Anyway, I guess I should concentrate on finishing the piece first before worrying about submissions .

Oh, and this may have been mentioned before, but when being judged, does the presentation of the score count for anything? I am now in the habit of trying to make the score as clean as possible before submission, and would like to know that work is being put into good use (besides players reading it easier) .

I have the same question, but for the opposite reason. My scores usually look a little better than cow dung, but not by much. It's readable but not perfect.

I've read that the composers list is full already, but I've also seen that some people is considering withdrawing. Is there any possibility that I can be added to the list if someone withdraws?

MP3s and other recordings are fine, so long as you include a score as well. Include a MIDI on top of that if you like.

I'd imagine the judges would appreciate nice-looking scores.

Possibly, although by that stage it may be too late for you to start anything. If anyone does drop out, we'll consider it.

Just write one anyways, it's good motivation, after all! Especially when somebody just might drop out.

Hmm

Should we consider letting others in on the basis that only the first "however many" may be judged?

I seriously doubt everyone finishing the piece. Though the amount of time given is generous and the task quite simple compared to the symphonic one but.......... we all remember the turnout for that.

An interesting proposition, and something to keep in mind for future contests.

hehe great, thanks! I'll start then, I'm in if someone eventually withdraws. Thank you very much for considering that.
