The Emancipation of Sound

Discussion thread for The Emancipation of Sound. If you would like to add a comment, click the Post Reply button.

Written god knows how long ago and nobody put it on the actual index/listing! Frown-worthy, if you ask me.

Well... it's not really like the other articles. I think of it more like satire... does it deserve to be among the other articles? It seems different to me, especially being something like a fictional story.

Should we create a fiction category for these kinds of things?

Hmm... I think I'll add some feedback. I think it was ... alright. I think you should have found more witty ways to phrase things. I didn't read the whole thing... I stopped halfway through the "interview" at the bottom... it got rather dry and boring. Not worth my time. If you made it (at least the interview) more witty, I think it would be a lot more interesting.

Well it wasn't intended to be a joke or witty. There are some parts, sure, but the gist of it was more of a conceptual thing. Granted, I could've done a lot more LOLs, but I wanted to keep the funny tone down. Plus, I was trying something new (to me) with it. Maybe I can revise it some. ;P

Also, about categories, I really don't like how the wiki system is setup. In effect, a LOT of the "articles" there are just as much opinion pieces as the ones I wrote. If you go by the description it doesn't really say you have any limits so long as it has to do with music.

I see nothing wrong about them being articles, but there should be divisions for things like this and something like guides or goal-oriented pieces even if they're opinion pieces too.

I think the role of the futurists and their experiments with noise, as well as recent digital stuff is heavily overlooked, but its an interesting article.

I like the interview with noise.
