Thumbs up "Farewell Suite" 1st Movement

Since this is my last year in high school, I've decided to write a farewell piece. Then I came up with this. The farewell suite, possibly 2-4 movements in total. This is the first movement, here my message is kind of flash backs of memories, if you get what I mean. Looking back, starting in Gr.9, all the process that Me and my buddies have gone through. So Enjoy, it's not quite finished yet but worth a try. As always, any comments are Welcome!

Wow James, you did a great job!
And you're still in the last year in high school!
You are so young oh my...
High school is so far away from me ahaha..

I opened your sheet music in Finale, and it looks wonderful!
The arrangement of strings is really good...
Looks sophisticated to me.. (I never composed a piece with finale before)
The soft strings definitely give the feeling of sadness and farewell, as friends are leaving...

There is a part which you change to a more grand sound, it feels like everybody is ready to go on and pursue their own goals.

I bet it will shed tears to every of your friends!

PS: Toward the end it sounds like kinda hollow, I guess you're not completed with the work yet. I'll be looking forward to listening it again

About the string parts: the slurs you have used are near impossible to play at that tempo and with those dynamic changes. Sometimes the slurs stretch over 5 measures! Any string player would kill your or have to rewrite the slurs potentially ruining your desired sound!

And just to add on, it really sounds like movie music!

Ok, well well well, the first movement of "Farewell Suite" has finally came to an end. whew.. I can say that i am so proud of it.

The following is an attachment of it. (Note: Following finale file contains articulations, orchestration, and other markings through out the piece main for LISTENNING purposes (Based on sounding good) and at this stage, there are still places needs to be fixed to reach the formality level) Once again, this is for listenning goods only, not for professionalism in the context of the piece. However, if you do find anything that are considered to be bothering, please notify me by any means nessesary, for the piece IS to be performed Live. Thank you.

Enjoy the rest of the First Movement of the "Farewell Suite"

Best Regards..

-James-

OMG that just made me cry!! Great job on that first mvmt. Nothing really to complain about now, so keep working on it. I do agree with Austin however on the fact that the slurs in the strings need to be cut down a bit. With slurs like that, the sound will get all wierd sounding towards the end of the slur cause its so long. Anyway.... please post the rest of this when you finish it.

James looks like you've updated the first movement of "Fairwell Suite"...
Great job!
Nothing much to say about it, just keep composing!
Are you composing the second movement now?
I'm looking forward to listening it!

it would be easier to review it for me if you had a piano reduction.

This piece has potential. It is Very expressive and majestic.
I quite like it though its not the style am accostumed to listen to.

There are a couple of places here and there where it deviates, but that could be just me.
greetings.
