Question though - how do drums (i.e. drum kit) fall into this - though not technically monophonic I'm hoping to use them?

Ummmmmmmm.... I guess, but if you do, do only use it as ONE instrument and DO not change it. (like, the instrument change rule does not apply here).

I'll enter. Sign me up. What the hey...

The guitar is only a one staffer, but can be amazingly polyphonic. Can we use guitar? If not, can we use an electric guitar that plays a single melodic line?
