Yup, according to the original post in the competition thread, there will be a recording, and I can't wait!

Great job Jon! Your piece sounded like it could come from a movie because it captures a good images. It will be interesting to hear the orchestra play it.

Tumbaba, "wreck beach", eh? i'm assuming you're talking about the one in vancity? were you there for the sunset or because it was a clothing-optional beach?

btw, the piece is pretty damn nice.

Hehe... I was there for the sunshine, frisbee, hand drums, and "socially circulated refreshments".

Nice job, Jon! Congrats. And good job to the others in the competition; I'm glad this one worked out smoothly in the end!

Hmmmm.... a bit atonal in parts, no? Just kidding. It seemed pretty tight. The only suggestion I would venture to give is maybe next time explore your motives a little more. Like in that rising motive you used, see what kind of mutations and permutations you can come up with in order to build more musical material. Just a thought.

That last note in the trumpets would be a killer. I'm glad I'm not playing it.
