Well I've just finished looking at the eight scores (just a quick skim over) - I think I've nailed down my five. But I won't post yet Tomorrow, I'll print out all the scores and assess them down to a tee (I'm bad for doing that) though I have a feeling that the five I have already marked out will be going through.

Sorry...I think my score is 38 pages... if you have Sibelius, you might be able to smush it to fit less pages, or something.

Wow... what's your average tempo?! Did you optimize any of the systems? Mine's around 120 in 4/4 most of the time, and runs 16 pages.

I don't have an average tempo. Most of the beginning's at 60-66, then it accels to about 176, it's pretty varied. The piece runs in Sibelius around 8:10, but that's without a break I wrote, and without rubato and a live orchestra which usually makes things longer. It's not that long!

Me neither. I've also never finished an orchestral work before now, much less a work in film style. I guess it just took that extra little bit of inspiration and motivation!

Well... I've never won a competition but I did have a piece read by the Vancouver Symphony. They butchered it of course. The recording is almost unusable. Now I want a second shot.
