I'm sure Thomas is working hard on the comments, making sure they are fair and well thought out. Patience, patience. This is not, after all, the decision for the final winner, only the top 5.

Ah, I didn't know I was causing that much trouble amongst you all! Anyhoo, I have come to the final top five.

Just quickly the two main reasons why I chose the following pieces: firstly, I found out a few days ago that the orchestra would be taking a break for a few weeks so rehearsal time is extremely restricted; secondly, the capabilities of the orchestra had to be taken into account.

To note: this competition has been about the ability of the composer to write for the intended orchestra, NOT the ability of the composer and his work, please note that! If you haven't gotten through, it is probably for the reason that the piece would need longer time in rehearsals (with the short time now left, we'd probably murder it and I particularly don't want to do that to anyone's piece).

Without further ado, the five finalists are (in no order):
Nicktoven (Superhero Movie Suite)
Invisionary (Adagietto)
Johann Howitzer (Journey to the Oasis)
Eselbeus (The Choice Fullfilled)
Compclar (Encounter with the Fiend)

Congratulations to those winners and the best of luck. I will be sending reviews to you in the next few days. If you have any queries, don't hesistate to e-mail. The final winner should be picked by the end of this month.

congrats all of you who made it to the top 5! (ok, random from me, but I've been following this even though I didn't enter)

And CS: I know it meant a lot to you.
