Finale and its Authorize Process

Hey guys,
Just a question that im sure has been answered before, but is there a way to deauthorize finale? Well duh, you might say: If you go to help, there is a Deauthorize Finale Button. But let me elaborate.

I know that each (1 license) program of Finale can be authorized via the internet a maximum of 2 times. I only used one of these authorizations when i first purchased finale, but then sadly my computer died, not allowing me to click deauthorize to empty the 'cache'. So when our computer was wiped and started all over again, I had to use the second 'cache'. Thats fine, but is there a way (other than ringing up america and asking them) to deauthorize the 'unused cache' that I have, over the internet?

I want to be able to install finale on the computer in my room (so its still legal) next to the piano, and I can't because of the lack of a third 'cache'.

Any help will be great

you can try contacting them through their tech support.
since it's a (very) long distance call for you, they might reset your permissions that way. Or they may have another number for you to call.

In musical criticism, when issues of craft and technical consideration are set aside, what remains is more subjective. However, until technical issues are dealt with, the subjective portion bears considerably less weight.

Hey Nick -

You've probably heard me complain in the past about my similar situation (computer dying... more than once... on my fifth registration, etc). Luckily, the people at Finale are very friendly the first couple of times, and once you do call, I'm fairly sure that there's a line they can switch you to for a closer operator. I believe they have one in Sydney, actually... at any rate, just tell them you're down under and they'll help.

Otherwise, it's only about a five-minute phone call; get a live person as quick as possible, tell them your situation. I'm sure they get this kind of thing fairly often, y'know.

Best of luck to you, mate.

hehe thanks guys. sounds like a plan. Its a good thing we have VOIP (like skype, only not). ITs 3 cents a minute to call New Zealand...which means it will probably be something like 13 cents a minute to the US.
