fine piece, great coherence in the development and overall structure. however i think that the overall texture is much the same throughout the piece. for a movement with such great lenght i would like to hear more contrasting passages in terms of texture, key, dynamics and even speed. it is amazing the compelling, relentless energy and the clear logic which pervades the whole discourse and, although being an idiossincratic and impressive feature of all your works, here that seems to keep the speech bond to a very narrow range of possibilities, and after some time that becomes a little opressive and tiresome. these very amazing qualities which are your greatest force here seems to weaken the final result because they are excessive. there is lots of energy but not an occasional and necessary relief to the ear, a dense texture but no section lighter enough, an amazing logic but no real surprise, a clear harmony without really interesting and contrasting shadows, very few key changes, the voice conducting and question/answer writting is faultless but too much predictable, and the result is a kind of horizontal strip of sound with an almost minimalist textural effect, an uneffective thing for this sort of classical style, and after all i think - it is a great piece, finely done and worked out to the minutest detail, but unfortunately just mostly rethoric and lacking true originality and boldness. maybe you could neglect some too much strict rules and mix some features of your baroque side into such classical pieces in order that they become more appealing, sensitive and charming. well, just my impression.

wow Brandon!!!!! i have to apologize for my previous comment to your quartet! i have listened it at cadenza and i had an absolutely different impression. well, it is just perfect. the file seems quite better there, is it the same??? anyway now i want just to praise your masterly work. a piece of music to listen with closed eyes and dream, really a jewel of fluency, inventiveness and richness in every aspect. for sure i was in a terribly unsensitive day when i wrote that. sorrrry, it is really wonderful!!!!!!!!

Everyday it seems like a new "classical" musician joins the forum! This galant style is becoming the norm here. Okay, so this isn't exactly the galant style, but it is close.

With that said, you do a good job for the style. I think that overall the piece lacks clear themes, but the pace is nice, and the piece is happy piece overall, so what's there to no like? Good job.
